First I'd like to say this is the best Open Source project I've come across. It's so cool in every way possible.

1. I'd like to know the essence of using API key since this works without it regardly. Im a new user, using this application locally?

2. Is this application free for life or billed after some time?

Glad to see you liked Akaunting. As for your questions:

1) You need the API Key for App installation

2) Free for life
