Free text not possible for bill items since upgrade to 2.0.3

Since upgrading to version 2.0.3, it's not possible to add a bill with free text for the line items. You HAVE to select an existing item (or add a new one), which is not workeable for bills (you cannot add a new item for any purchase you do). This is different from how it was. Can this change be "undone" a.s.a.p.? (Otherwise I will have to rollback to 1.x)

Can you explain how this is supposed to work now then? Now, I'm getting bills with all kinds of descriptions, e.g.
Line 1: Parking in city x on date y for customer visit z: Eur. 10
Line 2: Parking in city a on date b for customer visit c: Eur. 12
Etc.etc.
Am I supposed to create a seperate item for each line? Over time, this means thousands or even millions of items?
Until now, I just put in the ledger account ("Automobile costs") and a description indicating what it is...

Please advice... (and it would be great if such a big change in methodology is introduced, that it would be explained in documentation)

You can create an item with that description and it will be shown in the bill.
