Feature Request: Timesheets outside of projects

In wanting to submit a new Feature Request on GitHub, I was redirected here: https://github.com/akaunting/akaunting/issues/new/choose

It is possible to add a Timesheet to a specific project: https://akaunting.com/hc/docs/project-management/adding-a-timesheet/

Would it be possible to include that functionality natively within Akaunting, or in a dedicated app? We would like to track timesheets, then use those as input data for specific invoices. We cannot locate the source code for the Projects app to be able to inspect this functionality as it currently stands, but we would be willing to put software engineering time towards this.
