Sales Tax As Viewed In The Chart of Accounts

I am sure this would create the need to add more tables but usually in other accounting software (I have used a lot over 30 years) the GL payables accounts is described as Sales Taxes Payable, then the Vendor is Described as the Taxing Authority that the tax needs to be paid to and then sub ledger account would describe the tax details by type or rate? In my Chart of Accounts it shows 8.25% as a GL account. Hmmm
